Students are invited to apply for the Annual Student Leadership Award from the LBGT PA Caucus. Not a current member? Student membership is just $10!
The purpose of the student leadership award is to encourage leadership and professional development of future LGBT PA leaders. The term of the award is July 1 to June 30. During this term, award recipients participate in various opportunities for leadership and professional development at the national level. Award recipients also receive a travel stipend of $1000 toward expenses of participating in Caucus leadership activities at the AAPA's annual conference. The selection process is a blind review. Selection criteria includes, but is not limited to overcoming adversity/inspiration, integrity, service, financial need, creativity/innovation, and knowledge, attitudes and beliefs regarding LGBT healthcare equality.
Eligibility: Recipients are openly self-identified lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or gender nonconforming (includes queer and genderqueer) student members of the caucus who are enrolled in an accredited PA program from the date their application is submitted through the annual conference dates, and who exemplify a commitment to the caucus mission - LGBT healthcare equality.
Applicants are asked to submit an essay and complete a short application which must be received by January 15th. The application can be found here (MS Word doc).
